Salmon season in Iceland – Client feedback

Salmon season in Iceland – Client feedback

The atlantic salmon season in Iceland has been outstanding in 2016. We have had a large number of salmon anglers fishing in Iceland this season. Here are some comments from various rivers visited and fished.

Hi Mat

Just a quick thank you. We had a great trip to Iceland, caught some very nice fish, which appreciated as it’s very hard work !!

Those two rivers were wonderful and very nice to have some diversity.

Strengir runs a good show. Our guide Thomas was very entertaining and certainly knew the water and the fish.

All up very successful thank you.

Best regards

John

Thanks Mat. Had a terrific week. 20 fish including some biggies. Everyone was catching fish, even though the weather and water conditions were poor for much of the time, with some hot sunny days, cold nights, and the water temperatures up and down like a yoyo.

The runs on Langa this year are truly astounding, with huge numbers just pouring through, including many big fish, which is unusual for the river. Catching them was another matter though because of the conditions. The lodge had recorded about 350 fish for the year by the time I left, which is a record, I think.
The lodge was good, although they start serving the evening dinner at 11pm, and sometimes later, which is too late.
Stjani and I had a great time together, and I have asked him to put me down for the same week next year with him guiding again.
Roll on Vatnsdalsa.
Cheers,
Paul Beasley
