Tungulaekur River

The Tungulaekur River is situated in the South East of Iceland approximately three hours drive from Reykjavik. The river has a combination of Salmon, arctic char and Sea trout throughout its 4 km length but it is the sea trout that this river is famous for. This private 4 rod fishery has been used solely by its owners for many years. We are very fortunate to be able to access one of Europe's finest sea trout rivers for our clients. The Tungulaekur river is renown for producing large sea-trout every season with fish between 10 lb and 25 lb landed. The fishing is from the famed Breiodan Pool down to the junction with the glacial river Skafta. Although only a short stretch of river, it has a good variety of pools and some of the most amazing sea-trout fishing you will find anywhere in the world. Availability is at a premium.

Fly Odyssey run hosted trips to the Tungulaekur river each September. We can arrange bespoke travel or a combination trip with the nearby brown trout fishing of the highly regarded Minnivallalaekur River.
