Fly fishing in Slovenia is a stunning experience and offers true wilderness fly-fishing. Slovenia provides supreme sight fishing on the crystal clear emerald green waters to various species including brown, rainbow and brook trout, Danube salmon and grayling.
Fly-fishing in Slovenia, however, is most famous for the unique strain of marble trout inhabiting these alpine streams. These beautiful, elusive and challenging fish have been recorded up to 25 kg or 51 inches in length but are more commonly found in the 23 inch class. For the fly-fisherman who loves his trout and salmon this is one species that is high on the 'must-catch' list.
Slovenia is nestled between the Eastern Alps and the Adriatic sea and is surrounded by Italy, Croatia, Austria, Hungary. Slovenia is known as 'the land of water' and has a rich network of pristine river systems with streams like the world famous Soca, considered as one of the most beautiful alpine streams in the world. In these cold, crystal clear waters and pristine river valleys you will find a true wilderness fly-fishing experience.
