Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth) has some of the best tarpon flats fishing in the world. The majority of tarpon fishing will occur on the deeper flats, channels and mangrove lined lagoons with fish ranging in size between 15 and 120lb. Combine this with some outstanding bonefish and permit fishing and you have a stand-alone saltwater fly fishing destination.

There are two options for fishing around the islands of Isle of Youth. For those who prefer dry land you can stay at Hotel Rancho and for those who like the mobility of a yacht then the Perola is a 75 foot luxury live-abord providing an exceptional service for your Cuba fly fishing adventure. Hotel Rancho provides clean and comfortable accommodations for your stay on the Isle of Youth. Each day you are transported by skiff to the surrounding flats and deep channels in search of tarpon. Regular catches of 100lb plus fish occur through the months of May-July.

The Perola live-aboard explores the remote waters between Isle of Youth and Cayo Largo. These areas of Cuba are beyond the reach of any landbased flats skiffs and so has you fishing waters that rarely see other anglers. The tarpon fishing here is immense and will see you having large numbers of shots at flats cruising fish each day.
