Fancy something a little different in Iceland. This package is a combined
four rod fishery involving three rivers in the northeast of Iceland, The Fögruhlídará,
Kalda and the Jokla. The Fögruhlídará is one of Iceland’s most consistent and excellent
sea run Char rivers, while the Kalda is a river being improved with a smolt releasing
program. While fishing these rivers, clients also have the possibility of taking
part in our experimental fishing of the former dramatic glacier river Jökla, now
reduced to a moderate flowing clear river due to a new hydro electric dam. The Jokla
estuary also has some of the finest sea Char fishing in the country and this is
included in the package.
A new first class lodge situated on Kaldá’s banks and
a mere five minute drive from one river to the other will provide a comfortable
and unique setting for your stay.

A smolt-releasing program has been in place for several years now and has
enhanced the run of wild fish. Over 100 salmon were taken in 2 weeks in the
2007 season despite low water conditions and there are high hopes that this
river will continue to improve. When considering the price/fish per rod, the
Nesjum offers outstanding value and has to be one of the best deals for salmon
fishing in Iceland today.

This is a private fishery used solely by its owners. We are very fortunate to be able to access these first-class sea trout rivers. Tungulaekur is renowned for producing large sea-trout every season. The fishing is from the Falls Pool down to the junction with the much bigger glacial river. Although only a short stretch of river, it has a good variety of pools and some of the most amazing sea-trout fishing you will find anywhere in the world. Availability is at a premium.
