Fly fishing in Iceland is a dream for those anglers who love to fish for Salmonids. Iceland is famous for its salmon and sea trout fly fishing and also has substantial brown trout, arctic char and a unique sea-run char fishery that provide a diverse range of species to fish for on any trip to the region. Surrounded by a beautifully sculptured landscape of glaciers, hot springs, geysers, active volcanoes, portentous peaks and vast lava deserts there are few more scenic places in the world to fly-fish.
Iceland is full of famous salmon rivers and Fly Odyssey offers you a selection of fantastic waters including the Sela, Big Laxa, Breiddalsa, Jokla, Hofsa, Hrutafjardara and Huseyjarkvisl rivers for your next trip to Iceland. While Iceland is famed for its salmon fishing it also has outstanding sea trout, brown trout and arctic char opportunities for those who are keen to explore the region. Fly Odyssey has a selection of the finest trout and char rivers including the Minnivallalaker, Tungulaekur, Svarta, Jokla, and Reykjadalsa rivers. Our mutli-river campout trips are unique providing a wilderness trout fishing experience unmatched in Iceland.

Reykjavik is approximately 3 hours from the UK.
Travel time to the lodges varies between 1 and 6 hours. It is possible to be fishing the same day you depart the UK.
"I very much enjoyed our trip to eastern Iceland. The group were a congenial lot and though I hadn't met any of them before it was like saying goodbye to old friends when we parted in the baggage claim area at Heathrow. The activity was pretty intense and 12 hours fishing a day for 6 days running certainly reminds you what it's like to sleep like a baby.
The fishing was great on the Breiddalsa and tributary and our Icelandic guide, Sigi, was charming and very knowledgeable. The valley is beautiful with its broad sweep between hills and mountains to the sea. The clouds come floating along the sides of the valley so that the tops of the hills appear above them - sunlit if you're lucky. Lovely. The river and tributary have waterfalls and craggy pools as well as broad, smooth stretches - a bit of everything, you might say. I loved it.
Thanks for arranging my trip at such late notice."
