Iceland: Hrutafjardara River

The Hrutafjardara River is situated in the North of Iceland approximately two hours drive from Reykjavik. The river has a combination of Salmon and arctic char and is now fly only water. The river averages 500-600 salmon over the 3 rods allocated to fish it each season. Its reputation is highly regarded with local anglers and slowly coming onto the radar of overseas anglers. If you like having a river to yourself then this is the place to fish. The lodge overlooks the river and is a great place to relax after a day's fishing. The lodge contains 3 twin-bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen and sitting room.

Iceland: Huseyjarkvisl River

The Huseyjarkvisl river is a two rod river and produces around 200 fish per season. The river is split into a trout beat and salmon beat. The trout beat offers miles of untouched trout water to where the river joins the glacial Heradsvotn river. The trout fishing is some of the finest in Iceland with fish averaging 3 lb and fish exceeding 5 lb not uncommon. A fine lodge with thermal hot tub sits on the banks a short stroll from the top of the trout beat and beginning of the salmon beat. If you like to combine both trout and salmon fishing then this river is for you.
