Belize is world famous for its permit fishing and one location is a hidden gem in respect to this. The flats off the coast of Hopkins village in Belize offer hundreds of isolated un-pressured permit-rich islets and sand flats. The joy of fishing these flats is that virtually all the fishing is done by wading at knee depth. There are very few places in world where wade fishing for permit in such shallow water occurs. The fish tend be found in small shoals or as singles and pairs as they feed on the mixture of turtle grass/hard coral and sand flats. While bonefish are sparse in this area there is excellent tarpon fishing in the lagoons and main channel of the Sittee River.

We offer a private 5 bedroom beachfront residence for clients wishing to fish for Permit and Tarpon from Hopkins Village. This luxury accommodation provides the ideal base for both families and anglers alike. The trip also combines well with a stay on Glovers Reef where bonefish are plentiful roaming the pristine sandcay's and the bluewater fly fishing has to be seen to be believed. Various species of tuna, mackerel and jacks are found in the bluewater surrounding Glovers Reef throughout the year and each May-August the whale sharks arrive adding an extra attraction for those who love to dive and snorkel.
