Fly-fishing the Coral Sea is truly one the most unique fly fishing adventures known to mankind. Imagine this: you board a float-plane destined to fly 280 miles from the shores of the Australian Queensland coast across the Great Barrier reef and land you at a coral sand cay, where you are greeted by the sight of 2 live-aboard boats and an armada of dories that will be your fly-fishing platform for the next week. No-one else around, in the middle of the coral sea, you will then spend the duration of your stay battling with a fish population that has rarely seen the sight of mankind.
This coral sea adventure is extreme fly-fishing at its best. Big tropical speedsters that eat flies and then run to the reef faster than you could think possible. It will test your gear and skills to the limit but will result in captures of some of the most spectacular fish imaginable. You will be given the opportunity to see what the fish life of an untouched coral reef is really like. A hugely diverse range of species will be encountered on any coral adventure and you can expect to do battle with four of the hardest fighting fish known: giant trevally, sailfish, wahoo and dogtooth tuna.
Fly Odyssey works with Nomad Sportfishing Adventures to bring UK and European anglers the chance to fish these unique, untouched and rarely fished destinations. Nomad have made a name for themselves in providing unsurpassed fly-fishing adventures to some of the most remote and unspoilt fishing in tropical Australia and the South Pacific. This trip will take you on a fly fishing journey to the ultimate tropical reef environment.
