Paul Procter reports on his recent 10 days in Iceland.....…
We arrived to a very wet and windy Christmas island but everyone was super keen to hit the flats. With heavy cloud and wind we were left with no option but to prospect with some blind casting to my surprise we all had an amazing afternoon with plenty of good sized bones landed.
For the next week we had rain most mornings but cleared by early morning to beautiful sunny days with awesome water clarity for stalking the flats. I found the average size Bone to be bigger than previous years with many fish in the 3-4 lb mark and quite a few in the 7lb category . In particular near the end of our trip Phil landed 4 x bones over 6lb in one session on Paris flat!
The Trigger and Blue Trevally fishing was quite good with most us getting a few each over the week but the GT’s where a different story myself and Bill hooking a couple each but these XXL Models soon taught us who was boss…
In summary The fishing was outstanding and all the staff from The Villages where terrific making it another very enjoyable and memorable trip for the group.
The transfers and accommodation in Fiji was also great and ran like clockwork, and the pre-trip information ensured we were well prepared.
Can’t wait to get back,
